One group of women were afraid they would be ridiculed if they told their story.

Another group knew they would be arrested if they continued to preach about Jesus. Two stories are about people whose decision might have resulted in their death. And one story is about a man who was asked to lead an impossibly small army against a large group of invaders. The theme for the week was having an encounter with Jesus. And each day they talk about different events from his life where people had an encounter with Him. We decided it would be fun to pattern our duo after a famous comedy team and we landed on Abbott and Costello.

We started writing skits with these two men characters and tried to make it humorous. Then we had a workshop and invited all who had participated in our Christmas events and we talked about slapstick comedy. Most of the participants at the workshop were young people and we soon discovered that our two leads would probably be females.

The girls are doing a fantastic job and it has been a blast to put this all together. The folks in charge of VBS were excted and loved the scripts.
